Fatigue is one of the most common reasons people see a doctor — and one of the hardest to explain in one sentence, because it can come from so many different places. Before anything more complicated, doctors usually start with a small, specific, testable list: a handful of nutrients that are common to run low on, easy to check, and — when they are the actual cause — genuinely correctable. Here’s what that list is, and why each one matters.

A gap in any one of them can genuinely contribute to feeling tired.
Think of the B-complex as a team, not eight separate players working alone. Each one does something slightly different, but several of them are directly involved in the same core job: helping your cells convert the food you eat into energy you can actually feel and use. Magnesium — the mineral most likely to be missed entirely
Magnesium is required for more than 300 processes in the body, including energy production, but it’s checked far less routinely than B12 or vitamin D — and even when it is checked, standard blood tests can miss real deficiency, since they only measure about 1% of the body’s total magnesium.
Magnesium doesn’t make it onto a standard fatigue panel nearly as often as B12 or vitamin D do, even though it’s directly involved in the same energy-production machinery.
